Ski region

Hermagor-Nassfeld is the snowiest region in the Eastern Alps. The Nassfeld ski arena is the largest and most modern ski area in Carinthia, with 30 lifts and over 110 kilometers of ski slopes of varying difficulty. The region is known for its modern architecture. Here, you will find the longest and fastest gondola lift in the Alps – the Millenium Express – which is over 6 kilometers long.

The ski slopes here are wide and lead through treeless areas (ranging from 600 to 2020 meters above sea level) and are best suited for intermediate skiers. The resort also offers over 100 kilometers of cross-country skiing trails, illuminated toboggan runs, hiking trails, ice rinks, and many other attractions.

The resort is very child-friendly, with kindergartens and ski schools for the youngest, as well as special lifts and fenced areas designed for learning to ski.

There are also areas for freeriding, a snowpark, and ‘ski movie’ trails.

Sample daily schedule:

7:30 AM – Wake up,
8:00 AM – 8:30 AM – Breakfast,
9:00 AM – Departure to the ski station,
9:15 AM – 12:00 PM – Ski training,
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch break,
1:00 PM – 3:15 PM – Ski training,
4:15 PM – 5:45 PM – Organized activities,
6:30 PM – Dinner,
7:30 PM – 8:30 PM – Preparation of equipment and gear for the next day, daily summary,
9:30 PM – 7:30 AM – Quiet hours.

Accomodation

Pension Marienhof

Pension Marienhof is located in the village of Untervellach, surrounded by picturesque mountains, 2 km from Hermagor, and a 10-minute drive from Lake Pressegg. The Nassfeld ski area is 12 km from the guesthouse, and the free ski bus stop is just a minute’s walk away.

Guests can enjoy spacious rooms in a traditional Carinthian style with private bathrooms.

Nearby, there is also a summer toboggan run, a rope park, and climbing trails.

Right next to the guesthouse, there is a 30-kilometer cross-country skiing track. Nearby, there is also a lit natural toboggan run and a curling rink. In addition, you can go ice skating on Lake Pressegg.
